About Us
At Montgomery Behavioral Health, we offer compassionate, voluntary residential mental health care for adults aged 18 and older in a supportive and healing environment. As the best voluntary residential mental health program in Montgomery, we are dedicated to meeting individuals where they are, respecting their lived experiences while assisting them in building sustainable wellness and long-term stability.
Our co-ed program is designed for individuals seeking primary mental health treatment, including those with complex diagnoses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, and co-occurring challenges related to body image and eating behaviors. We believe that recovery is not about entirely eliminating symptoms, but about learning how to live a meaningful and connected life alongside them.
Why Choose Us
We focus our treatment approach on compassion-focused therapy, understanding that healing starts with understanding, dignity, and self-acceptance. Mental health symptoms are a natural part of the human experience, and our aim is not perfection but rather progress, resilience, and self-awareness.
Each client participates in at least one individual therapy sessions a week, complemented by thoughtfully structured group work that evolves continuously. Utilizing a core-based processing model, our groups explore foundational themes such as family of origin, identity, and significant life milestones. These groups are designed to ensure that clients do not repeat the same material; instead, topics rotate and deepen over time, allowing for meaningful growth during the client’s stay. Groups are organized by gender, age, and mixed populations, and they typically last one to two hours.

“Before I came here, I felt stuck, isolated, and hopeless. Now I have clarity, coping skills, and a sense of purpose I didn’t know was possible. I’ve tried therapy before and never felt much progress — until I came here. The approach was personalized, respectful, and practical. I’m grateful for the real changes I’ve seen in my life.”
“As a referring provider, I’ve seen remarkable progress in clients who work with this team. Their collaboration and communication are outstanding. I feel heard, supported, and truly understood. This team changed my life.”

Talk to Someone Today
“I was overwhelmed and scared to start treatment, but from the first session I felt genuinely supported. The tools and strategies I learned here helped me manage anxiety in ways I never thought possible. They treated me like a person, not a diagnosis. That made all the difference. I finally feel like I’m moving forward instead of just surviving.”
